This is the first phase in the localization process. This phase is typically carried out by a Senior Localization Engineer working alongside a Project Manager. In this phase files are assessed for translation, an analysis is carried out to determine how much translation can be re-used to reduce the localization cost, a translation memory is used to pre-translate the source text and finally the project is dispatched to a professional translator.

Project Preparation

  1. Create a Translation Toolkit

  2. Run a Project Analysis to determine costs

  3. Pre-Translate Toolkit using a Translation Memory

  4. Dispatch to professional translators
