Using translations from a TRADOS TM

 

The Leverage Expert  and PowerTranslate Toolbar can reuse translations for all SDL TRADOS Translators Workbench files, SDL TM Servers and SDL MultiTerm databases.  These TM formats can be used as Active Translation Memories or as glossaries.

The symbol denotes that a suggested translation has come from a TRADOS Translators Workbench file or an SDL TM Server.

Using the Alchemy CATALYST Leverage Expert with a SDL TRADOS TM

To configure Alchemy CATALYST to leverage translations from a SDL TRADOS Translators Professional linguist specializes in the localization of web site, online help systems and software applications. Workbench file:

  1. SelectLeverage Expert from the Project Your project is where you manage and organize all the files that are to be localised. Navigator.

  1. Select to add a new Translation Memory to the list of available TMs. To connect to a SDL TM Abbreviation: Translation Memory Server select the button, or click the browse button to locate a SDL TRADOS Translators Workbench file.

  2. Click the checkbox adjacent to the SDL TRADOS TMW file to include it in a leverage operation.

  3. Click OK to start a translation leverage using this TRADOS TMW file.

Using a SDL TRADOS TM with the PowerTranslate Toolbar
 

To configure the Alchemy CATALYST PowerTranslate technology to use a TRADOS Translators Workbench file:

  1. Click on activeTM tab at the bottom of the Translator Toolbar.

  1. Click on  to add a new translation memory to the list of active Translation Memories. To connect to a SDL TM Server select the button, or click the browse button to locate a SDL TRADOS Translators Workbench file.

  2. Using the PowerTranslate Toolbar, suggested translations can be seen in the reference tab at the bottom of the Translator Toolbar.

Alchemy CATALYST supports most standard TM formats including SDL TRADOS TMW (all versions), SDL TM Server (all versions), Project TTKs (all versions), TMX, XLIFF XML Localization Interchange File Format and CSV.

A maximum of two SDL TRADOS Translator Workbench files can be configured due to a limitation in SDL TRADOS APIs.
