Using glossaries |
Glossaries are used by professional translators to improve the consistency of their work. Alchemy CATALYST works with a wide range of glossary formats including TMX, TRADOS MultiTerm, SDL MutliTerm iX, CSV and XML. Glossary translations are always displayed in the Reference Window of the Translator Toolbar. This window will display translations for both words and phrases.
To configure a glossary file:
Go toTools - Options, and select Glossary from the list provided.
Click to open a new glossary and use it for terminology and consistency checks..
Locate the glossary file standardterms.txt (stored in the Alchemy CATALYST installation folder), and specify this as the name of the glossary file.
Click OK to attach this glossary to Alchemy CATALYST.

An unlimited number of glossary files can be specified using this method, and each time a term is found it will be displayed as a translation suggestion in the reference window of the Translators Toolbar.

To select a SDL TRADOS MultiTerm glossary file or SDL TRADOS MultiTerm iX file, use the SDL TRADOS enterprise button to locate and specify the name of the glossary file. |
