The Translator Toolbar is designed to centralize all the functions that a Translator needs to carry out their work efficiently and quickly.

Translated Text Window |

Source Text Window |
|
This is the original source language text. This may contain red over-lines that indicate that a word is available in the glossary and is displayed in the Glossary Reference window ( If a translation memory suggestion is located and displayed in the main Reference window ( |

Reference Window |
|
This window displays Translation Memory matches as well as Machine Translation suggestions. You also configure your Active Translation Memories as well as view all Validation errors for each segment using this window. |

Glossary Window |
|
This window displays translation suggestions from glossary files. You can also configure new glossary files by clicking Glossary Source. |
|
Spelling Suggestions |
|
This displays suggested spellings for misspelt words in the Translated Text window. You can configure a Spell Checker by going to the General Options dialog box. |

Previous Item |
Click this button to move to the previous item in the project. |
Previous segment |
Click this button (or use the keyboard shortcut SHIFT+ENTER) move to the previous segment. |
Next segment |
Click this button (or use the ENTER key) to advance to the next segment. |

Click this button to advance to the next item in your project. |
Undo |
Click this button to undo the most recent operation. |
Redo |
Click this button to redo the most recent undo operation. |
ezType |
Click this button to toggle ezType on/off. |
Auto-Validation |
Click this button to toggle auto-validation on/off. |
Refresh Auto-Validation |
Click this button to refresh the errors displayed in the Error Reference pane. |
Toggle Bi-di |
Click this button to switch between normal and bidirectional text entry. This is useful for working on Arabic or Hebrew texts. |
Set/Reset Lock |
Click this button to apply a lock to the currently selected string. |
Set/Reset Translated |
Click this button to set or reset the Translation Status of a string. |
Set/Reset Review |
Click this button to set or reset the For Review status of a string. |
Set/Reset Signoff |
Click this button to set or reset the Signed Off status of a string. |
Spell Check |
Click this button to perform a Spell Check on the currently selected string. |
Changing the translation status of a segment
The Translation Status of a segment may be changed as follows:-
Click to lock each selected segment.
Click to mark each segment as Untranslated.
Click to mark each segment For Review.
Click to mark each segment as Signed Off.
Displaying Fuzzy Matches in the TM Reference Pane
Use the Left arrow () or Right arrow (
) to display the previous/next fuzzy match in the TM Reference pane.

The differences between the new source segment and the translation memory segment are highlighted automatically in the TM Reference pane.
The following difference-markups are used to highlight added, removed or deleted words/phrases:-

Indicates that additional words/phrases have been added to the new source segment. |

Indicates that words/phrases exist in both source and target but have been moved. |
Yellow coloured text |
A translation memory is said to be Active when it is listed in the Active TM tab of the Translator Toolbar. An Active TM can be used for translation lookups and any suggestions found are displayed in the Reference pane.
