Why Export a Section in Catalyst?

You can divide the contents of a Project TTK amongst a number of different translators or engineers.

These sub-sections can then be processed independently of each other and then re-imported back into the master Project TTK.

Exporting Sections of a TTK

To export a section of a Project TTK to a new file, open the Project TTK and select File > Export Section. Then you will see the form in the screenshot below.

The list box on the left hand side of this dialog box will display the contents of your active Project TTK file.

The Export Section Form

To select items for exporting into a new project TTK file follow these steps:

  1. Select an item from the active project TTK using the cursor or mouse. Next select the  button to move it to the Destination TTK tree control. You can select a group of items or an individual item to export.
  2. Specify the name of your destination Project TTK in the 'Destination TTK Filename:' text box.
  3. You can specify the name of the person you are exporting these items to using the "Section Assigned to:" text box.
  4. Press the OK button to create a new Project TTK file contains all the sections that have been selected for export.

Incorrect items selected for exporting

If you've select an item for export by mistake, then re-select the item in the Destination TTK tree control and then select the button.

This will move it back into your active Project TTK file.

Exported items in navigation pane

Exported Items are marked when displayed in the Project Navigator pane.
You can determine whom these items have been exported to by viewing the items history. Right click on the exported resource in the Navigation pane > History...
Below, you can see that the TTK creator Cyrilv exported to user SamuelJ.

Once an item is exported from your Project TTK file it cannot be modified until it is imported back into its original Project TTK file.
