Dialog panels can be validated using the Validate ExpertThis Expert is used to automatically detect localisation problems and bugs. Example of validation checks are: Translation consistency, duplicate hotkeys, overlapping controls, clipped text, mis-translation etc. . You can validate the dialog panel individually or select a group of items from the Project Navigator.
The validation tests applied to dialog panels are defined in the Validate Expert Options Dialog box and cover the following.
Generates an error exception if two or more controls share the same hotkey letter. You can request the dialog editor to suggest a unique hotkey for each control. Simply click on the control, click the second mouse button and select Insert Hotkey
Generates an error if two or more controls overlap each other on the dialog panelGeneric name given to dialog boxes. Format specifiers are programmatic placeholders. They are defined using the percent (%) symbol. In this test, an error exception is generated if the number of format specifiers differs between the original and translated strings. An error exception is also generated if the order of these format specifier’s change.
