Translation Alignment is used to create quality TMs from already translated content. Alchemy CATALYST now includes a full alignment engine that works on virtually any file format. To dramatically reduce the manual work involved in this task, the alignment engine will auto-align files using the structure and meta-data in these files to find smart-alignment points. This dramatically improves the speed of alignment of large amounts of content.
Smart Alignment Technology: Alchemy CATALYST uses smart-alignment technology that examines the structure and meta-data in a file and uses this to create an auto-aligned translation memory. This can later be modified by the translator to fine tune or modify any mis-aligned translations.
One-to-Many Relationships: The Alignment technology supports one-to-many and many-to-one relationships between source and target translations. This makes it possible to align languages like English and Japanese. In the example above, two English segments are auto-aligned with one Japanese segment.
Files Supported: Over 100 different file types are currently supported by the Alchemy CATALYST Alignment technology so virtually any desktop, mobile or online content can be aligned using this powerful and sophisticated technology.
Custom File Alignment: Due to the flexibility in the design of the Alchemy CATALYST Alignment technology, even proprietary file formats that have an ezParse rule can be auto-aligned in one session.
Batch Alignments: Alchemy CATALYST can align the entire contents of a project TTK with a file based folder structure in one single operation. For example, this makes it possible to align a single CHM (Compiled Help File) with individual HTML files stored on a file server.
The Alchemy CATALYST Alignment technology can process files automatically or interactively, giving the translator ultimate control on how existing translations are harvested into new high quality translation memories. This makes it easy to migrate existing translated content into the more powerful Alchemy CATALYST project TM format and to minimize loss of data when migrating from other 3rd party TM tools.
