Automatically Layout Software Applications

Use Alchemy Layout Manager to automatically layout translated dialog boxes and avoid the overhead of doing it manually. Alchemy Layout Manager will scan each dialog form and will automatically resize and reposition all controls to fit translations. This automatic process takes a fraction of the time required to do this task manually.

To Layout Software Applications

  1. Open the Project Your project is where you manage and organize all the files that are to be localised. TTK file Final_Phases.TTK. This is the file that was created in the previous exercise.

  2. Select the folder Software Applications and select the dialog Toolbars. This dialog contains several clipped text items that do not fit correctly on the dialog panel Generic name given to dialog boxes. A Dialog Panel is an internal CATALYST object that is used to represent dialogs from multiple development platforms. (ie .NET Windows, Desktop Dialog boxes, SmartPhone Canvas Areas, ASP+ Pages, XLIFF Frames, Oracle Forms. etc.).

  3. Click button on the Layout Manager Toolbar to automatically create a new layout for this dialog box.

  4. Use the and to go to the next/previous dialog boxes and lay each one out using Alchemy Layout Manager.
