Error 1722. An Error occurred when running the Installer.

Reason

The necessary Microsoft .NET Framework updates have not been installed. This is particularly relevant for Windows XP.

Solution

To correct the problem, please follow these procedures:

Ensure you have installed all the latest Microsoft .NET Framework updates.
Go to Start > All programs > Windows updates. Check for Microsoft .NET Framework updates and install as required (Updates are incremental so you may have to repeat this several times until no new update is available).

You will be prompted to restart.

Try the install process again.
