Alchemy PUBLISHER comes with several Machine Translation plug-ins. These are provided free when you install Alchemy PUBLISHER on your desktop. However, only one Machine Translation plug-in can be active at any one time.

These plug-ins are stored in the PLUGIN folder on your desktop machine.

Configuring Google Translate Connector

  1. Go to your Plugin folder. Depending on the operating system on your computer you will find it in one of the following folders:

    note.bmp

    • Microsoft Vista = C:\Users\Public\Alchemy Software\Publisher 3.0

    • All other Microsoft OS = C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Alchemy Software\Publisher 3.0

  1. By default, two Machine Translation plug-ins are provided with Alchemy PUBLISHER. These are: GoogleMT.DLL and PromtConnector.DLL.  Since only one of these can be active at any one time, delete the plug-in that you do not want to use.

  1. Now restart Alchemy PUBLISHER to activate your remaining MT plugin. Alchemy PUBLISHER will now copy your remaining plug-in to the PUBLIC PLUGIN folder on your desktop machine.

If you have more than one Machine Translation plugin installed on your machine, Alchemy PUBLISHER will select the one that comes alphabetically from the PLUGIN folder and use this to provide machine translation services.
